The KNVA wants to structure Vodou, a fundamental part of the collective consciousness of the Haitian people, in an organizational framework at the local, regional, national and international levels, in order to contribute to the advancement of Haiti in the democratic ideal and development in the cultural, socio-economic and political fields. The goal is to regulate the expansion of religion in concert with the State of Haiti and relevant foreign governments.

The KNVA invites you to join it in the defense, illustration and safeguarding of the collective wisdom emanating from Vodou, this Haitian cultural heritage rooted in our ancestral traditions and our popular culture.

Quoting Mr. Pierre Sané, Representative of the Secretary General of UNESCO, a United Nations Department for Education, Science and Culture, when he said, on August 21, 2009 at the Karibe Hotel:

“Haiti is the cradle of universal human rights and the symbol of resistance against oppression, and be declared:

“Haiti, Heritage of Humanity!”

And, Mr. Sané further recorded in the International Annals that:

“The universality of human rights may have been conceived in Paris in 1789, but the birth took place in Haiti a few years later.”

Taking into account the difficult journey and the long crises which have marked the history of the Haitian people and imbued with the preponderant role of Vodou in the evolution of Haitian history , society and culture, the KNVA intends to amplify its cultural, spiritual and intellectual influence through our national popular institutions, the family, human relations in general, including the feminine contribution, philosophy, the plastic arts, Creole, oral and written literature, science and traditional medicine.
